Meet Our MUAC Car Show Partners

We are a little more than a week away from our 6th Annual Muscle Up Against Cancer Car Show, in Fort Washington on Saturday, July 8th. Annually, this event raises funds for cancer care nonprofits in our community and Sauers Cares decided to support three organizations this year. Now, meet our MUAC Car Show Partners!

While healthcare professionals and facilities handle medical care after a cancer diagnosis, there are so many other things in each life that contribute to overall wellbeing. And our partners focus on each moment in a person’s cancer journey. Clearly, no one should face cancer alone and these amazing nonprofits dedicate time to healing the entire person.

From mental health and wellbeing to physical needs to emotional support, all three of our partners want to address the individual needs of everyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. Additionally, services are available for family, friends, and caregivers because a cancer diagnosis affects everyone.

Here’s more information about each of our MUAC Car Show Partners.

CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY GREATER PHILADELPHIA

First, we are working alongside Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia again. The mission of Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. They provide a comprehensive professional program of social and emotional support and education to enhance the mind, body, and spirit of people affected by cancer. Critically, these programs and services are free and remove barriers for anyone who needs cancer support.

KIN WELLNESS & SUPPORT CENTER

Next, Kin Wellness & Support Center has cultivated a strong community creating a comforting, non-medical retreat that offers care and support to all who battle cancer in Bucks County. Critically, Kin meets guests’ holistic non-medical emotional, social, physical, and lifestyle needs throughout their journey of treatment, recovery, and beyond. Kin’s 5,000 square foot facility supports over 50 volunteer practitioners and instructors. These professionals offer free services to Bucks County patients and caregivers. Additional services include yoga, massage, classes, and other therapeutic supports. Ideally, the space is open for classes, treatments, or support groups. And sometimes, it’s free when you simply need to relax with a comforting cup of tea and good company.

FOR PETE’S SAKE CANCER RESPITE FOUNDATION

Last but certainly not least, For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation enables cancer patients and their loved ones to strengthen, deepen, and unify their relationships by creating unforgettable and lasting respite experiences. The Cancer Respite Program includes two forms: the Travel Respite and the Staycation Respite. Both experiences address the emotional, psychosocial, financial, physical and spiritual traumas that families confront with a cancer diagnosis. These experiences complement traditional treatment and play a crucial role in the patient continuum of care.

Your Support Matters

Even if you can’t visit the MUAC Car Show this year, you can still help us and our beneficiaries.

We have determined projects with each of our partners that will help them succeed.
First, for Cancer Support Community, Sauers Cares will upgrade IT infrastructure to support virtual programming.
Next, Sauers Cares will help tackle critical construction projects at Kin Wellness & Support Center.
Lastly, for FPS Cancer Respite Foundation, Sauers Cares will support scholarships for family getaways.

Please make a difference for our neighbors affected by cancer by making a donation today!
