Warm Clothing and Supplies Drive

The Freedom Steps Mission

Sauers Cares worked alongside Freedom Steps in November and December of 2020, to send a collection of 'warming' items for troops on the USS Makin Island and in South Korea.  Freedom Steps is a nonprofit that was created to raise awareness for those soldiers deployed overseas who aren't able to enjoy all the comforts of home. The organization is a community, heartfelt tribute to the men and women who are on the front lines every day defending our country.

Freedom Steps' main event is an annual 5K. Some may walk, some may run, but everyone participates, in every type of weather! For everyone involved, this event is a show of dedication that regardless of politics, we all support our men and women in uniform and are so very grateful for what they do for us. Money raised throughout the year is used to purchase supplies that ship to units around the world.

The Gift of Warmth

Our nation's armed forces guarantee our safety, and it was Sauers Cares' pleasure to try and return the favor with comforting items they needed. With support leading up to the holiday season, we were able to collect enough blankets, socks, hand warmers, foot warmers, and wipes for 75 sailors and soldiers. It was a pleasure partnering with Freedom Steps for this collection and we look forward to doing more good work together in the future!

Also - a very special thank you to the first graders of Nativity of our Lord School in Warminster who were major participants in this drive!
