7th Annual Sauers Cares Muscle Up Against Cancer Car Show raises $25,000 to support local cancer patients and their families
The History of MUAC
From a young age, Executive Director and Founder of Sauers Cares, Stephanie Sauers Boyd became involved in various charitable causes. After her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, Stephanie quickly became involved with American Cancer Society’s Eastern Montgomery County chapter of Relay For Life. After many successful years of involvement, including multiple volunteer positions on their planning committee, Stephanie decided to combine her family’s love of classic cars with her fundraising efforts. In 2018, Muscle Up Against Cancer was born. In 2019, mere months before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Stephanie decided to expand her community outreach efforts to support broader needs, which became the founding point of Sauers Cares. While Sauers Cares prides themselves on supporting many important causes in the Bucks and Montgomery county area, MUAC continues to support local cancer charities.
The 7th Annual Muscle Up Against Cancer Car Show
On Saturday, July 13, 2024, the 7th Annual Muscle Up Against Cancer Car Show took place in Fort Washington. In an attempt to avoid rain, the morning event was moved to the afternoon which gave way to clear, sunny skies. More than 150 car enthusiasts attend for a chance to win one of 75 trophies and raise money for cancer patients and their families. This year we partnered with For Pete’s Sake, a non-profit organization that helps adult cancer patients, their caregivers and loved ones by creating unforgettable and lasting respite experiences. Thanks to the generosity of our many sponsors, participants, spectators and volunteers, MUAC raised an impressive $25,000!
Providing Respite Experiences to Our Region
Proceeds from the event will assist in the development of a first of its kind, 25 million dollar respite resort located in Hawley, PA on the grounds of Woodloch Resort. This facility will grant families a break from the relentless routine of doctor visits, surgeries, tests, and treatments, creating the gift of time together away from the shadow of cancer in a state of the art, forward thinking facility. Sauers Cares could not be more excited to be a part of this historical project that will benefit so many!
